Moonlit Guided Ski and Snowshoe Tour with NENSA

February 10th, 2024 ~ 4:30pm-7:00pm

Moonlit Guided Ski & Snowshoe Tour in collaboration w/ NENSA

$10/person with rentals available.

Join us for a guided tour of our trails with either skis or snowshoes. Rentals available, bring a headlamp. After our guided tour we will enjoy a bonfire.

Learn about the history of the area, observe native plants and animal tracks, and discover more information about nordic skiing, outdoor recreation and more. After the guided tour there will be a bonfire and goodies at various rates provided by La Ferme. This is part of NENSA’s 2023-24 Community Tours & Events.

Cross Country Skier Magazine presents Tour De Trail on Feb. 4th & 5th with editors and techs that will be fitting boots and bindings on the latest no-wax, skin and skate skis. Demos will be free to all those who want to participate, and they will be selling raffle tickets to support NENSA’s youth and family programming.

Wooden Ski Day

January 21st, 2024 ~ 9am to 5pm

Wooden Ski Day-Fundraiser for Maine Ski & Snowboard Museum & family-fun celebration of Nordic Skiing’s History!!!

Free trail pass for folks on wooden skis, but any kind of skis are accepted! Costume Parade!!! Dig out your vintage or retro Nordic ski clothing and get in the spirit of celebrating the history of Nordic Skiing. Ski Parade with Prizes will be given to 3 winners based on the following categories at 1pm: Most Old-Timey or Traditional Nordic Ski Wear, Retro 70’s/80’s Ski Wear and finally, Most Overall Creative!

Ski historian, Glenn Parkinson, from Maine Ski & Snowboard Museum, will share his knowledge of nordic ski history. Bring your ski artifacts to learn more. Live Music at 2pm with Singepole Trio Band. Norway Brewing Co. will be serving beer at 1pm. Profits will benefit Maine Ski & Snowboard Museum. Costume parade starts at 1pm.

Free Trail Pass when you arrive and use your wooden skis.

Apres Flying Moose Classic Ski Race Party

Join us at Carter’s XC Ski Center for an apres Flying Moose Classic ski race party! Try out our xc ski trails, FREE for any Flying Moose race registrant! Also all race registrants can enjoy 10% off all Swix products that day at our ski shop, in which we carry an extensive inventory of classic, skate, touring, and backcountry equipment. We will also be holding our annual Winterkids day with information about the Winterkids program, kids activities, and free swag. Additionally folks can demo fat tire bikes for only $20. Our food truck, Wild River Kitchen, will be serving our full menu including hot cocoa and smores kits. We invite you to experience our family-friendly and dog-friendly atmosphere complete with a central fire pit, picnic tables, and indoor lodge seating too.

Costume Parade will start at 1pm. Prizes will be given in 3 categories!

Sinegepole Trio Band will play an assortment of jazz, blues, folk, & country music from 2-5pm.

Earn your Individual Season’s Pass for 2022/2023 by volunteering at 2 of our trail work parties or earn 4 day passes by volunteering at 1 work party. We will be cleaning trails, trimming brush, and other jobs to get ready for the upcoming ski season. Please bring loppers, work gloves, water, & a cold lunch.

Also join us after for a picnic celebration of all our accomplishments. Anyone who volunteered this season is welcome! At 3pm we will have Norway Brewing Co. beer & pizza. Please bring a snack to share.
